“CICA is the national body responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of canoeing in the Cook Islands which is culturally, socially, financially and environmentally responsible and sustainable”
“CICA’s focus is on the overall development of paddling in the Cook Islands in addition to oe vaka and includes kayaking (K1) and surf ski(SS). A significant feature of the focus on development is the growth of coaching for paddlers and coaching for coaches which ranges from novice to elite performance paddlers and through the age categories from junior to golden master paddlers. The inclusive culture of paddling development is extended to adaptive paddler coaching and applies through the pa enua.
Development of a culture of safety on and off the water is another significant feature through education, maintaining safe practices, boat masters training, lifeguard training, first aid training, and CPR training.”
